Migraines Acupuncture Spring

Migraines Acupuncture Spring

The Five Elements

In the Traditional Five Element System of acupuncture treatment, the season Spring is related to the Wood Element. There is help here for your Migraines.

There is five elements or phases each is related to a season and meridians or channels – Wood’s organs are the Liver and Gallbladder.

To learn more about the Five Element System and how it relates to you check out this page on my website – https://www.southwellacupuncture.co.uk/acupuncture-five-elements/

The Wood Element and Migraines

The Wood Element and Spring are related to the power of birth, growth and renewal. The Liver channel is the planner and Gallbladder is about good judgement and decisions. If there is no plan and bad decisions, the Wood element can become out of balance and one of the symptoms of this can be Migraines.

Wood energy is upwards and outwards – if this path is not followed you may find yourself irritated, frustrated and stressed by often being stuck.

Wood and Wind

The climate related to the Wood Element is Wind. Wind can manifest as pain, and which can move round the body, causing tension and pain

Wind can whip up anger and inner criticism. Wind is also a mechanism for change the Spring and the Wind of the Wood Element can help you find a new beginnings and opportunities, to find your way forward.

Meridians

The Meridian or channel of the Gall Bladder almost follow the tracks of many people’s migraines. Starting at the side of the eye, behind the ear up into the forehead, over the head to the neck, onto the shoulder, down the outer side of the body and leg.

The Liver meridian starts in the foot going up the inner leg and into the torso, though the inner meridian goes up into the head.

Wood Element Disharmony

The Wood Element is often disturbed in the Spring, and by chronic stress, related to food and your environment. Your Causative Factor or Gaudian Element may not be the Wood Element but may need some extra help if you are struggling with Migraines. Your whole system can find itself in disharmony either from cause or effect of Migraines, which can often feel worse in Springtime.

In my practice I have seen many patients who suffer with Migraines who have been helped.

Hormones and Migraine

Migraines may be brought on by hormonal changes such as periods and PMS, after pregnancy, and in perimenopause and menopause. Traditional Five Element Acupuncture by treating your whole system deals with the many reasons why Migraines arrive in your life.

Your Migraine

Everyone is affected by Migraine differently; this is the beauty of Traditional Five Element Acupuncture we treat you and how you are affected not just the symptoms of disease or disorders.  Alongside the acupuncture treatment, lifestyle and self help support is given to help you move forward.
