World Mental Health Day 2025
Your Mental Health
World Mental Health Day takes place every year on 10th October. A time to remember the importance of good mental health and the need to invest in yourself and empower your mental health.
Traditional Five Element Acupuncture can help you find your way forward empowering you to embrace your emotions, to find balance to strengthen your Mental Health.
Finding your Inner strength
Understanding yourself is an important part of caring for your Mental Health. Being aware to how you respond and react to your personal environment and how you perceive the world around you.
Individual personality traits and acquired coping skills play a role. We all have a different energetic make up, with the Five Element Tradition, each element affects how you respond to situations. To understand more about your personality and find out about the elements within you – in the Five Element Acupuncture system see web page – https://www.southwellacupuncture.co.uk/acupuncture-five-elements/
The Bigger Picture
When you start your journey with Traditional Five Element Acupuncture at your first consolation, your acupuncturist will build a picture of you and what you need. Asking about your physical, emotional, and environmental health. By taking a full history of past and present illness and situations. To become aware and treat your Body, Mind and Spirit. Finding the root cause, contributing factors and finding your Gaudian Element/ Causative factor, this is the basis to your Treatment.
Anxiety and Acupuncture
There are many reasons why a person becomes anxious, and Traditinal Five Element Acupuncture can help you manage.
- Stress and Anxiety getting the medical care and investigations you need
- Stressful life events
- Work, Family and Relationships
- Grief
- World events worry
- Illness and diagnosis
- Chronic illness
- Trauma past and present
- Difficult marriage
- Responsivities becoming overwhelming
- Family life babies, toddlers, teenagers, grandparenting!
- Aging and illness in family
- Not feeling heard
Acupuncture can help treat and support the above situations – though today I would choose to concentrate on one – below.
Getting the medical care and investigations you need – Stress
Getting the medical care and investigations you need – many patients arrive in my treatment room worn down trying to get the care they need. This has been highlighted with Jessie’s Rule; Jessica Brady’s legacy inspires new life-saving GP safety rule – see more information on the Governtment website below –
This is where Jessie Brady, who tragically died of cancer aged 27, after 20 appointments at her GP surgery, failed to diagnose her condition. Unfortunately, I hear of many occasions where patients are not getting the help they need, still in an overloaded system.
Traditional Five Element Acupuncture can help you gain you the inner strength to stand your ground, in difficult and demanding situations. When patients are trying to get diagnosis for a condition or conditions, many conditions are difficult to diagnose, so it can be a long and difficult journey, which I support patients with acupuncture and encouragement.
Anxiety Misunderstanding
I also often hear of people expressing that they are anxious about their conditions or undiagnosed conditions, and then being labelled as anxious and not getting the care they need. This often makes the situation worse: I treat and care for my patients in many situations such as these. Acupuncture helps them to have the emotional strength to stand up, find their way to get the right investigations and treatment, which can be exhausting.
When you are battling to get appointments and diagnosis, you are likely with all the stress become anxious or develop an anxiety disorder but this should not be a barrier to getting the diagnostic tests you need. It all can be exhausting.
Traditional Five Element Acupuncture can help you feel restored and stronger can help you manage your anxiety and stress about illness and diagnosis can cause. Acupuncture helps you to overcome overwhelming situations and the energy to keep going.
