The Wood Element – Spring
We are all made up of the five elements within our Body, Mind and Spirit though we all have one or two of the elements that we relate to more – our Causative factor – which can be our strength or /and our weakness. When one or two of the elements is not functioning well it affects all of the other elements and as we need to work as one.
The Wood Element in traditional five element acupuncture is related to spring. Spring is the birth of a new year a time of new growth and planning. We are coming out of the yin part of the year – the darkness towards the light the yang part of the year. In the spring we can feel the renewed vitality in the air, as the days lengthen and become warmer.
The Wood Element gives us the inspiration and desires for life. If it is weak we may lack we may lack enthusiasm and spark to life. You can relate a tree to a person: it needs to be well rooted and have light and nourishment; if this is lacking a tree or a person can lose vitality and strength. The Power of Wood is Birth this can be of a person or plans and growth. Wood allows us to see though our eyes and our spirit.
The Big Question with Wood is; I am I free? Are we free? It is about finding your way in the world.
