Cosmetic Acupuncture is a totally natural and holistic anti-ageing, non-surgical treatment for rejuvenating the face and revitalising the whole body.
Cosmetic Acupuncture reduces stress evident in the face, bringing out your natural beauty from within. It is based on the principles of Traditional Five Element Acupuncture, which involves the insertion of very thin disposable needles into the acupuncture points on the face and body.
Being a safer and kinder treatment compared with Botox or surgery with no trauma inflicted on the body or need for recovery. When treating with Cosmetic Acupuncture your whole system is considered and points are used on the face and body to ensure overall balance.
A 1996 report in the International Journal of Clinical Acupuncture reported that among 300 cases treated with Cosmetic Acupuncture, 98% had marked positive effects.
Cosmetic acupuncture has been around for thousands of years and although relatively new to the West the Chinese have been using points on the face to combat the signs of ageing and to help with various skin conditions for many years. It was in use as early as the Song Dynasty (960AD – 1279AD) when the Empress and Emperor’s concubines received Cosmetic Acupuncture.
Hair fine, disposable acupuncture needles are placed at strategic points on the face and act by increasing the local production of collagen and elastin which strengthens the structure of the skin, by stimulating circulation of the Qi, blood and lymph to the face, improves muscle tone, encourages tightening of the pores and brightens the eyes. This can result in a general tightening of facial tissue and gives a smoother, firmer line to face.
