World Acupuncture Awareness Day 2022

World Acupuncture Awareness Day 2022

World Acupuncture Awareness Day aims to raise the profile of Traditional Acupuncture.

Ancient Therapy

Traditional Acupuncture is one of the longest established forms of healthcare in the world.

Acupuncture is an ancient form of healing for the modern world. Its origins lie far back in the mists of time in ancient China, and yet it is totally relevant for the world of today, with all modern varied stresses.

Acupuncture affects All

Acupuncture Treatment involves the insertion of fine needles, moxibustion and acupressure to specific points on the body to affect the flow of your systems vital energy – Qi.

Though it is so much more than that Traditional Acupuncture treats your whole Body, Mind and Spirit. Traditional Acupuncture is designed to affect your whole system as a problem in one area will almost always affect different parts of you on a physical and mental plain.

Therefore, as the underlying imbalance improves, the original condition improves, other health problems may resolve with an increased overall feeling of wellbeing and prevention of further problems.

I Do Acupuncture

Traditional Acupuncture Training

Masters of Acupuncture have passed down their knowledge though centuries of generations. Traditional Acupuncture is not just an add on to western medicine, it is a whole system of medicine which treats aliening with the person and nature for positive results.

As a trained Nurse (ENG) I started my Traditional Acupuncture training thinking I would have plenty of knowledge to understand the theory and practice of acupuncture. How wrong I was because Traditional Acupuncture treats a patient in an completely different way.

Therefore, I invested in 3 years (about 3500 hours +) in theory and practice learning how Traditional Five Element Acupuncture, treats the person on the levels of the Five Elements, Yin and Yang, Heaven and Earth all aliening with nature, the seasons and the times of day. Much more than just sticking in a needle.

I have continued to learn from lectures, colleges, journals, books, and my patients for the last 27 years and take great pleasure in seeing my patients be well and happy. Freeing them of many problems and preventing further problems. For More iformation see https://www.southwellacupuncture.co.uk/acupuncture/

Hannah is A member of the British Acupuncture Council (MBAcC)

British Acupuncture Council members are trained in one or more traditionally based system of acupuncture: such as TCM, Five Elements, Stems and Branches, Japanese Meridian Therapy, and many others.

These styles differ slightly in needling and diagnostic techniques, but all trace their roots back to the classical texts such as the Yellow Emporers Canon of Internal Medicine: huangdi neijing (黄帝内经)
