Christmas 2020 – Reflect and Relax

Christmas 2020 – Reflect and Relax

As 2020 comes to a close it is certainly a year we will not forget.

For many it has been an incredibly difficult year of ill health or loss or both. There have been financial hardships, harsh economic realities and practical limitations that have triggered anxiety, fear and loneliness.

None of us have been completely immune to the impact of COVID-19. As an Acupuncture profession we were forced to completely suspend our services from March until June, at the advice of the British Acupuncture Council and UK Government. I am glad to say that Traditional Acupuncture now has found its way to being essential when it comes to COVID rules, whether it is Lockdown or Tier systems. Therefore, at Southwell Acupuncture Clinic, I can assess and treat my patients, which is very important as we enter Winter a difficult time of year to keep well.

Christmas 2020

Christmas has also often been associated with stress, anxiety and exhaustion as many people try to spend time with family, see friends and generally try to juggle a thousand and one commitments over the course of December. Though now due to restrictions many people will have a quieter Christmas this year, maybe a bit more time to rest and recharge. However this can mean a lonely time for many people who have been isolated for most of the year.

Your Health and Wellbeing

The rising infection and death rates also brought home to many of us the fragility of good health which many have previously taken for granted. As a result, people may be inclined to take more personal responsibility for health and wellbeing, which is where Traditional Five Element Acupuncture can help with building and strengthening immunity and overall Wellbeing in Body, Mind and Spirit.

Traditional Five Element Acupuncture is a treatment that can be the difference between feeling well or not, between happiness and sadness, between just existing or leading a fulfilled life. Sleepless nights full of anxiety to a calm restful sleep, constant pain to relief and relaxation, to be able to cope with the difficulties of life that have been made worse in COVID times, to name but a few.

Farewell 2020

Though this may be a challenge for many, try to reflect on what has been good about 2020 and be grateful for small things. I encourage you to put self-care at the top of your own personal agenda moving forward into 2021 with renewed hope.
