Fire Element – Summer

Fire Element – Summer

Summer “officially” began on the Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year. In Traditional Five Element Acupuncture the element Fire is the spark. Fire is associated with summer, creativity, abundant energy, light and warmth.

It’s the season of growth, creativity, expansion, enthusiasm for life and enjoying the company of others. The emotion of Fire is joy, passion and the sound is of laughter. Emotionally, a healthy Fire element balances expression and sensitivity.

Fire is the most Yang of the Elements, the peak of growth, maximum activity and the motion is upward. In the cycle of the seasons and Elements, the developing warmth of summer’s fire helps nourish Qi after the cold of winter and the intensity of Spring.
